Teacher Training Workshops
Understanding Rhythm, taught by Ken Dalluge, ME and Julian Gerstin, PhD, is an accredited teacher training seminar that can be completed in one residential weekend. It includes methods for teaching both basics such as accurate note placement and music reading, and more advanced concepts such as polyrhythm and melodic improvisation using rhythm. A highlight is playing together in an ensemble, learning percussion and songs from the traditions of Brazil, Cuba and/or Ghana.
Thanks for your superb teaching at the workshop — I can’t believe how much my rhythm improved after your class.
Gail Hunt Reeke, pianist
